How to Measure for your Curtains, Blinds & Awnings

How to measure INSIDE a reveal
Use this method if you would like your blinds to hang inside the reveal as shown.

 

  1. Inside recess measurementMeasure the drop in millimetres, making sure to take the measurements from the top of the reveal to the windowsill in three places, as shown in the diagram.
    *Please advise us of the smallest measurement as this is the one we will need to use.
  2. Then measure the width of the reveal from wall to wall in three places as shown.
    *Please advise us of the smallest measurement, as this is what we will use.
    *Note: a 10mm reduction will be made to the measurements to ensure proper fit.
How to measure OUTSIDE a reveal
If you want your blinds to hang outside the reveal, use this method:

 

  1. outside recess measurementsMeasure the drop in millimetres from where you want the top of your blind to be to the bottom. (Note down your measurement)
  2. Measure the width of where you would like your blind to be in millimetres. (Note down your measurement)
    *Note: The blind will be made to the exact measurements. No allowance will be made.
